Review: I found this book from reading “More than a Body” by Lexie Kite and Lindsay Kite which my wife had recommended I read. I enjoyed both of them. Intuitive Eating explains how diets don’t work and suggests that we should listen to our bodies to manage our food intake. A lot of the ideas and points covered in this book were really interesting and changed how I think about food. I also enjoyed how they shared success stories of individuals who really struggled with food and were able to build a healthy relationship with food through intuitive eating. I also really like the idea that my body knows how much and what it needs better than some book or diet or whatever. I have started implementing these principles in my life and I already have noticed that I feel better. I am excited to see how much my relationship with food changes as I continue to apply what I have learned. We also have started helping our kids to be intuitive eaters and are encouraging them to listen to their bodies to tell them what to eat and when and most importantly when they are full. I plan to reread this book again soon to freshen up on some of the concepts and I think everyone will benefit from reading it.
